About this Resource

Garden Railway Realism online resource is provided by the Garden Railway Realism Group.

GRRG is not a Society, but a 'special focus group' within the wider garden railway community, aimed at realising the full potential of the great outdoors for the realistic modelling of railways. Its full outlook, interests and approach are set out on the front page, and other introductory pages of this wiki.

GRRG functions almost entirely via the medium of the Internet, though participants do occasionally instigate personal meetings on an individual basis.

Most members work in scales between 1:12 and 1:20 full size, largely on narrow-gauge type railways. Few of us normally see eye-to-eye on every matter, and this resource aims to reflect that diversity. Comments made in any one individual's contributions do not necessarily constitute an editorial policy. Many of the ideas and techniques the group espouses are transferrable to other gauges and scales, and indeed, some of us also work in other scales such as 1:22.5, 1:24, 1:29, 10mm and 1:32 - to say nothing of our residual indoor modelling activities!

Membership of the group is available to genuinely interested individuals by application, and full details for how to join may be found on the group's Prospectus, to be found here.
