Penrhyn circa 1958 - 01

I took this picture in April 2009 having just complete the first six wagons of a slate train projected eventually to be about 20 wagons . I love those faded old Kodak pictures of the Penrhyn from the late '50's and early '60's - all too few in number. There was a bridge on the Penhryn reminiscent of this one on my line, and many of the pictures of that line feature verdant vegetation in the background. The shot was rather opportunistic, as I had just been asked to steam up by the parents of some passing children, and this was the end of the session. The only tweaking I have done is to weaken the colour saturation, which seems to have the effect of rendering the vegatation more convincingly - a point to note for the future?
